Scott has been keeping my roof going for over 25 years. Every time we have a single missing, his team is out there fixing it for an affordable price. I’ve tried to get him to put a new roof on, and he just tells me that mine has more than enough life left. I can’t thank him and his team enough. if you are in the northern New Jersey area, Scott roofing is who you should turn to for any roof repairs or new roof. I might even have them inside my garage at some point.

I had a leak in my window on second floor that I could not reach because of height. Also I didn't know where it was leaking from the window. They promptly responded to my request for free estimate. I believe the owner came on time and examined the window and identified the leak. I promptly received the proposal next day. I waited about 2 wks before they came out in August. 3 workers came ( Sergio, Willie and Jose); they did a fine job sealing the leak. They removed loose old caulking around the window and sealed it carefully with caulk. I am happy to report that there has been lot of rain lately and there is no water bubble forming under the paint around my window. Though it was a small job, they did it well and fixed the problem. Thank you, Sergio, Willie and Jose.
Scott's replaced my roof and installed a ridge vent and soffit vents in June 2022 in 2 days. The installation was adequate and to date there are no leaks or other major issues with the roof. However, there are several issues I would like to highlight: (1) An inexperienced younger work did not pre-measure the placement of the soffit vents in the rear of the house so locations are uneven and they were forced to use two different sizes of vents - I had to coach them on this oversight so the front of the house was completely properly; (2) The cut for the ridge vent was uneven and they used dried plywood that splintered on the undersized after it was nailed to the roof deck; (3) The contract stated they would replace any water-damaged roof deck free of charge and there was some damaged roof deck - the crew was not aware of this and I had to call the owner to instruct the crew to complete the work; (4) The crew removed a lot of damaged roof deck near the gutter line but did not replace full sections leaving large open holes for birds, squirrels, and wasps/hornets to enter the attic - I had to go up on a ladder and staple window screen over the holes; (5) The crew was not aware that one section of the roof (over a sunroom) was to receive a full ice-water shield - again I had to call the owner to instruct the crew; (6) The bitumen-based flashing work where the new roof meets the siding was done quickly and poorly and not smoothed with a trowel or knife to create a good seal - I had to go back and repair the flashing; (7) The ridge cap shingles were not placed opposite of the prevailing wind direction; (8) The crew was fairly diligent about cleanliness but they left tar stains on the siding that I had to remove with mineral spirits, some debris in the yard, and a fair amount of roofing nails (not safe when you have a 3.5 year old toddler running around the yard) that I picked up over the remainder of the summer. If you decide to use this contractor, you must make sure the owner has communicated the work scope to the crew and observe the crew during the work to make sure they do things properly and do not take any shortcuts. I highlighted the issues noted above to the owner and was able to reduce the fee by a considerable amount (20%).
