I really have never seen a contractor do such bad work. To add on top of that they are dishonest and rude. Someone should take pride in the work they do- George and son will take your money and run off. How do you have a leak so bad that it penetrates basement flooring? Half of the basement is bubbling up and you can hear the water sloshing. Mind you, this is NEW construction. There should be NO issues. Upon trying to contact George and sons they told me “please don’t contact me” they take on projects that they have no experience or business doing. But this review is the first step , building departments , consumer affairs and township will be involved. I’d suggest George and sons reach out before things escalate to those levels.
THE WORST GENERAL CONTRACTOR IN ESSEX COUNTY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Their work is subpar, and they are dishonest. I gave Marie and the owners the opportunity to redeem themselves, but again they have failed to keep their word. From the beginning, they have communicated empty promises and lies. I purchased a new home built by George & Son. I strongly advise against choosing George & Sons for your home needs. A glance at their reviews reveals a shared sentiment among many customers. George & Son left numerous crucial aspects of home building incomplete. As you read the list below, be aware that this is supposed to be NEW CONSTRUCTION and they claim to have over 25 years of experience: Cracks in the ceiling (see attached photo) No caulk in any of the bathroom tubs or sinks The baseboard does not meet the floor (see attached photo). Most of the floor is not leveled. Basement tiles are missing caulk. Improper installation of cabinets. Some of them are chipping (see attached photo). The absence of an outlet near the kitchen island renders the designated microwave space useless. What is the point of having a microwave built into an island if there is no outlet nearby?!?!? Stair railings weren't properly secured, and stair baluster caps were not securely glued. Home renovation might not be their forte; perhaps they should stick to driveways and steps. I anticipate discovering more discrepancies and mistakes, and I will continue to update this review accordingly.
PLEASE READ I have bought my house in WEST ORANGE for 10 YEARS. I had JOSE and GEORGE company fix my home since DAY ONE. They are loyal and hard working people, that I RESPECT. They deserve the Respect and HONOR. These comments are RIDICULOUS.
I had the misfortune of being behind one of there trucks today. He was dropping stones off the back of his truck which broke my windshield. I called the company only to be told that I am not the first one to try to “scam” the company for a free windshield. Shady owner. Beware of this company. If he acts like this about being responsible for his trucks I can’t imagine how he treats his customers.
George and Son’s demolished and replaced my garage slab. Very happy with the end result. 2 days of work and very reasonably priced for the materials (5 inches of 4000 psi concrete with reinforcement). The moisture barrier installation could have been installed with more attention to detail. Before and after photographs. Additional improvements done my yours truly.
